Overview
BSP and NPT are different pipe-thread systems. NPT is an American tapered pipe thread covered by ASME B1.20.1. BSP commonly refers to parallel BSPP/G threads or tapered BSPT/R-series threads associated with ISO systems. Instrumentation often introduces BSPP ports with bonded washers, while process piping may use NPT. A transition adapter must be rated for the full pressure and temperature range.
For gas service, use only approved components and sealants. Mixed threads are not an acceptable adaptation method.
